Mahakavi Vennikulam Gopalakurup Memorial Polytechnic College, Vennikulam is the first professional institution in Engineering/Technology under Government Sector in Pathanamthitta district. The institution was established by the Government of Kerala in the year 1984 at Vennikulam in Puramattom Grama Panchayath of Mallappally Thaluk, which is a rural one. The institution started functioning in its own building in 1996. Pathanamthitta is a district with diversity in many factors. This district provides most of the Non-resident Indians as well as educationally backward classes including Adivasis. The campus of the college spreads over an area of 4.29 hectares of land in the banks of the river Manimala. A twenty minutes journey from Thiruvalla railway/Bus station will get you to the campus. This is an institution where students of three neighboring districts viz. Alapuzha, Kollam and Kottayam can easily access for their higher education in technology. The institution offers diploma courses in four disciplines namely Civil Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Electronics Engineering and Computer Engineering. The location of the main campus currently has one main building. The administrative block where the office, Principal’s Room, Class Rooms and some of the labs are functioning here. Apart from the main block, there are four workshop/laboratory buildings in the campus.
